Synthos S.A. was established on 1st September 1945, under the name of Fabryka Paliw Syntetycznych (Synthetic Fuel Plant) in Dwory. The name of the company has been changed many times since 1945. The company, being a state-controlled enterprise, was transformed into a company wholly owned by the State Treasury on 1st December 1994. The transformation was based on the provisions of the act dated 3rd April 1993, concerning National Investment Funds and their privatization. Sixty percent of the company’s shares were invested into the National Investment Funds on 12th September 1995. Upon the decision of the General Meeting of Shareholders, which took place on 8th April 1997, the company adopted the following name: Firma Chemiczna Dwory S.A. (Chemical Company Dwory S.A.).

   The Synthos S.A. Company has been listed in the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 20th December 2004.

   In July 2007, the company bought 100% shares of Kaucuk a.s., a Czech company. In November 2007, after the completion of the acquisition process, the company changed its name again, this time to Synthos S.A., under which it is currently operating.

   The name „Synthos” is a combination of two words of Greek etymology: synthesis (combine) and orthos (appropriate, proper). It represents the mission of the company, which is manufacturing and supplying our clients with chemical products and solutions for further processing, thus facilitating their development. The name of the company also represents the subject of its activity, being the chemical synthesis.
Synthos S.A. has focused its activity on three main product groups: synthetic rubber and latexes, styrene plastics, as well as vinyl and acrylic dispersions. Synthos S.A. is the only Polish manufacturer of synthetic rubber and polystyrene, as well as the Europe’s second manufacturer of emulsion rubber.

   The dynamic development of the company in recent years has made it an enterprise that is competitive, safe and environment-friendly, which provides the market with high-quality, state-of-the-art products. Synthos S.A. makes sure that buyers are satisfied with the scope of raw-materials, semi-finished products and chemical products.
